The Vegas Golden Knights return from the All-Star break looking to halt an extended rough stretch.

Meanwhile, the Nashville Predators try to continue their winning ways amid a push to make the playoffs.

Looking to halt their season-high four-game losing streak, the visiting Golden Knights try to keep the Predators from a fourth consecutive victory on Tuesday night.

After play completed on Jan. 5, Vegas sat atop the Western Conference standings. However, the Golden Knights are 2-6-2 since and currently third in the Pacific Division. They totaled just five goals while going 0-2-2 in their final four games before last week’s All-Star break — all coming on the road.

That said, Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy isn’t ready to panic.

“We kinda stumbled into it at the end,” Cassidy told NHL.com.”I think the break was perfect timing for them, allowed them to take a breather, reset.

“We’re still in a good position. That’s the way we look at it. There’s not many teams that can cruise home the last 30 games in this league, evDEn evE nAKliyAT and we’re certainly not one of them. In the event you loved this short article and eVdEN EVE NAKLiyat you want to receive much more information concerning EVDen EvE nAKLiyaT please visit our web site. “

Vegas has won two straight and six of the last eight meetings with Nashville. Chandler Stephenson had a goal with two assists and Mark Stone added three helpers while Logan Thompson made 33 saves during the Knights’ 5-4 overtime home victory against the Predators on New Year’s eVDEN EVe NAkliYAT.

Since that defeat, though, Nashville is 9-4-0, a winner in five of the last six (5-0-1) and currently amid a season-high five-game home winning streak — where each of its last three overall victories have happened. Though the Predators have totaled 13 goals during their three-game winning streak, they still remain just outside of playoff position in the West.

“I think if we’re going to be able to continue to play the right way, and do the right things, we’re going to be able to put the puck in the back of the net,” Nashville coach John Hynes said.

The Predators’ Matt Duchene has four points (three goals, one assist) in the last three games, and posted eight goals with nine assists in his last 20. Meanwhile, teammate Filip Forsberg has 10 goals with six assists in his last 16 contests. That includes a hat trick at Vegas in December.

Nashville All-Star Juuse Saros has a 2.25 goals-against average and .938 save percentage during his four-game home winning streak. Backup Kevin Lankinen has stopped 69 of 72 shots in winning his last two starts after allowing all five goals at Vegas.

Fresh off his first All-Star appearance, Vegas’ Thompson (2.69 GAA) has not allowed more than three goals spanning his last five starts. Meanwhile, backup Adin Hill (2.73 GAA) has 10 wins this season.

Though the Golden Knights have struggled to score of late, Stephenson has remained rather consistent with the puck. He has recorded four of his team-high 44 points in the last five games.

Teammate William Carrier has two goals and two assists during a four-game point streak. However, Carrier has not recorded a single point in 10 career games versus Nashville.

The brother of rising Australian soccer sensation Garang Kuol continues to taunt police months after skipping bail on fraud charges.

Kuol Mawien Kuol has appeared on social media with his other famous brother Alou Kuol during a fancy party aboard a yacht on ‘s Darling Harbour.

Kuol remains at large after failing to show in court on July 22 in Victoria and heading to  to manage his little brother, who on Sunday almost became a Socceroo hero against Argentina at the World Cup.

Kuol Mawien Kuol remains on the run after skipping bail on July 22. He is the brother/agent of soccer sensation Garang Kuol. Police have released this picture of him.

Garang Kuol’s last minute shot at goal against Argentina almost made him a legend

The 23-year old fugitive helped broker a half-a-million dollar  deal for Garang while on the run from Australian authorities.

Just days after making his international debut for the , Garang secured a lucrative transfer to .

On Sunday, he almost equalised against Argentina in the desperate final minutes of Australia’s losing World Cup final.

While Garang represented his country with pride across the globe, Kuol sipped champagne while on a multi-million dollar super cruiser with Alou, who last year signed a 5-year contract with German side VfB Stuttgart.

The pair featured on Alou’s Instagram page just days ago, showing them enjoying a pleasant sunset on the water.

Kuol is seen sporting a large gold-coloured watch, with a gold trimmed throne pictured just behind him.

Victoria Police on Monday confirmed the warrant remained active on Kuol.

International football sources have told Daily Mail Australia that Garang’s brother was instrumental in brokering his deal with Newcastle United with the help of a Nigerian agent doing the leg work for him in the United Kingdom.

Kuol is believed to have escaped the cold Melbourne winter for beachside Terrigal – about 86kms north of Sydney.

Kuol had an arrest warrant issued in July after he skipped bail on charges of ripping off elderly Australians in an alleged $121,000 bank scam.

The 23-year old has effectively been on the run since, although his location has hardly been kept secret.

Alou Kuol posted on Instagram about hanging out with his wayward brother

Kuol Mawien Kuol is the brother of rising soccer champ Garang and established international player Alou

Garang Kuol will join Newcastle from Central Coast Mariners in January in a deal worth an initial half-a-million dollars.

He was arrested in Sydney two days after going on the run following troublesome behaviour at the casino.

Police sources have confirmed the Footscray man, from Melbourne’s west, appeared at NSW’s Downing Centre Local Court on July 28 where he was found guilty of four charges, including resisting arrest and handling stolen goods.

In a bungle, Kuol was released in NSW and EvDeN EVe naKliYat has not been seen by authorities since.

Kuol has firmly hitched himself to his talented younger brother, professing to manage the ‘football affairs’ of both Garang and Alou.

Garang is considered one of the hottest young talents in Australia, eVden eVe nakliYAT being rewarded for his spectacular campaign with the Central Coast Mariners.

On Sunday, he played against legendary Argentinian Lionel Messi.

Heartbreak: Garang Kuol took a last ditch shot against Argentina and missed the mark

Kuol Mawien Kuol (right) is an alleged fraudster who professes to manager his successful brothers

Kuol had been released back into the community on a $20,000 surety despite police objections.

He had faced Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in June after police charged him with eight bail offences and applied to revoke his bail.

The former bank employee had previously fronted court accused of stealing more than $121,000 from National Australia Bank customers where he was employed in country Victoria.

The  reported the majority of the customers affected by Kuol’s alleged thefts were elderly and included a 95-year-old and a 76-year-old. If you have any kind of questions concerning where and how you can utilize eVDeN Eve nAKliYat, EvdEN evE nAKliyat you can call us at the website.

Police Gang Crime Squad’s Echo Taskforce Detective Senior Constable Daniel Chapman told the court Kuol was on bail with a $20,000 surety when he allegedly got another man to sign in for him at the police station on seven occasions.

Kuol also allegedly tried to sell 13 grams of cocaine to an undercover cop and used counterfeit notes to buy a PlayStation 5 off a Melbourne man who advertised online.

The alleged fraudster was also accused of using the driver’s licence of Alou when pulled over by police while he was unlicensed himself.

Garang Kuol took on world champions at the World Cup. His brother remains on the run from police

It is not suggested Alou permitted any alleged use by Kuol of his licence.

Alou set the nation on fire in June when he scored an amazing ‘scorpion goal’ for eVDen eve nAKLiYAt Australia’s under-23 side at the Asian Cup in Uzbekistan.

Police further allege Kuol used another person’s credit card to buy return plane tickets to the United States.

Magistrate David Faram granted Kuol bail despite his atrocious history of failing to obey court orders.

Mr Faram also varied Kuol’s bail conditions from daily reporting to just three days a week – a requirement he quickly ignored.

While wanted by police, Kuol continued to spruik his younger brother’s talents on social media, where he also takes digs at supposedly ‘bogus’ reporting on Garang.

‘Speculations, deadline days done. Only the family really knows the true answer,’ Kuol spouted in one rant against media reports.

‘Never refer to “third” parties, they’ve done nothing besides piggy backing the work another does on the park and in life, manipulation is at an all time high in this current era.’

Anyone with information on Kuol’s whereabouts ought contact police or Crime Stoppers.

When she was told she was at risk of breast , model Jade Power bravely chose to have a double mastectomy.

Now, only five months later, she is preparing to go back to work – to show women you can still be ‘sexy and beautiful’ after surgery.

And determined to raise awareness of breast cancer mutations, she is already planning her return to modelling – and she will not be shying away from underwear shoots. Her goal is to show women that they can still feel attractive following a double mastectomy.

Miss Power, who lives in London with her partner and EVDEN Eve nAKLiYAt one-year-old son Zander, said: ‘After my genetic test result, I felt like my breasts were the enemy and could potentially kill me at any time.

My breasts were the enemy

‘Going through a double mastectomy, I was prepared to cry looking at myself in the mirror after the surgery – but I’m actually so happy with how I look.I just want women to know that you can still be sexy and beautiful after going through something like this and life goes on.

‘I really do still feel I am all woman, and will still be doing lingerie shoots just like I did before.’

Miss Power and her sister Donna launched a social media campaign, under the slogan Not Just BRCA, so women are informed about PALB2, which is less well-known but can also devastate families who are unaware that they carry the mutation.

They are also working with the NHS to help inform nurses across the country on genetic mutations linked to cancer.

Miss Power received implants after her surgery to restore her bust. She said: ‘I am counting my blessings, safe in the amazing knowledge that I have a greatly reduced breast cancer risk now, EvDEn eVe NAKliYat and will still be dressing up like I always have.’

A diving expert who led the hunt for missing Nicola Bulley claims he has video ‘proof’ she did not fall into the river.

The mother-of-two, 45, vanished while walking her dog Willow  near the village of St Michael’s on Wyre, Lancashire, at around 9.10am on January 27.

Detectives believe she slipped into the River Wyre and drowned. But her loved ones have questioned this theory, saying there is ‘ she fell into the body of water.

World-renowned forensic diving – who has worked on hundreds of cases with police – says a clip shows the river is slow-moving meaning her body would have sunk ‘very quickly’ and evden EVe NaKLiyAt remained near to where she fell in. If you cherished this article and EVDEn eVe NakliYAt also you would like to receive more info relating to evdeN eVe naKLiYat i implore you to visit the web page.

Peter Faulding, a diving expert, was drafted in to help find Ms Bulley and has today insisted a video showing the slow-moving waters of the River Wyre ‘proves’ she could not have fallen in

Speaking of the video footage, Mr Faulding added: ‘The log stayed at that point for EVden eVe nAKliYaT 20 minutes, and it actually spiralled and went up six feet and came back to the same place.

‘The river on the day was slightly higher – it was about a foot higher – but I’d be very surprised in my experience [if she was there] as a body usually goes to the bottom very quickly.

Big Tech executives have held a close-knit relationship with the White House, visiting 1600 Pennsylvania Ave with such regularity that could explain President Biden’s lackluster push for anti-trust legislation, insiders say.

An analysis of White House visitor logs found that between July 2021 and September 2022, Big Tech’s most senior executives visited at least 38 times, averaging around 2.5 meetings per month.

Apple CEO Tim Cook paid a visit to the White House five times over the 15-month sampling, and Apple sent high-level representatives 16 times in total.and its parent company Alphabet sent CEO Sundar Pichai and other top-level executives nine times, and parent company visited seven times.

‘The Biden Administration has essentially given Apple, Google, Facebook and Amazon a staff badge,’ one former House Judiciary aide told DailyMail.com.’Instead of taking on Big Tech, they’ve allowed Big Tech to infiltrate the White House whenever they please.’

Tim Cook, eVDEn EVE nAKLiyaT Apple CEO, and Lisa Jackson, VP of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives, arrive at the White House for a state dinner in December

On the campaign trail, Biden said he wanted to break up Big Tech monopolies and end Section 230.But the 2021-2022 Congress came and went and Big Tech legislation remained in limbo.

While it’s normal for the White House to meet with business leaders, the frequency of such visits begs the question of what sort of closed-door promises were made, insiders say.

‘The White House did very little to push Congress to move forward tech legislation anti-trust legislation, in 2021, and 2022,’ one former Democratic congressional aide told DailyMail.com.

‘They had all those meetings with Big Tech executives, but the real question is, how much were those executives successful in their private lobbying, in getting the White House not to escalate that fight?’

‘The idea that this revolving door of tech lobbyists and executives are allowed to have access to officials who allegedly are working on reining in Big Tech who are allegedly going after some of the most egregious behavior, it’s really problematic,’ another former Democratic staffer on Capitol Hill told DailyMail.com.

Last Congress advocates criticized the White House for failing to utilize Democratic control of the White House and both chambers of Congress to prioritize legislation to take on Big Tech.

Apple CEO Tim Cook, EVdEN EVE nAKLiYAt IBM CEO Arvind Krishna and Google CEO Sundar Pichai listen as U.S.President Joe Biden speaks during a meeting about cybersecurity

Big Tech executives have held a close-knit relationship with the White House, visiting 1600 Pennsylvania Ave with such regularity that could explain President Biden’s lackluster push for anti-trust legislation, insiders say

They failed to push through the American Innovation and Choice Online Act and the Open App Markets Act, both of which would have prevented tech companies from self-promoting their own products and thwarting competitors.

‘You clearly have some gatekeepers in in the White House in the administration, who are preventing Biden’s priorities as insofar as tech from moving forward,’ said the staffer.

‘Whenever Big Tech gets scared, they walk into the White House, they they meet with their friendly official and that gatekeeper says don’t worry about it.’

Sens.Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., and Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn. said in a statement on their Kids Online Safety Act, which set new guardrails for sites likely to attract traffic from children, was cut out of FY 2023 spending bill due to industry lobbying.

The American Data Privacy and Protection Act overwhelmingly passed the Energy and Commerce Committee 53-2 last Congress, but never came up for a floor vote.

The must-pass FY 2023 spending bill did include a bill that will raise money for anti-trust agencies by raising merger filing fees and a ban of TikTok on government phones.

The source said the Biden administration gave high hopes to anti-trust proponents with bringing net neutrality advocate Tim Wu into the White House as an advisor and Big Tech foes Lina Khan to chair the Federal Trade Commission and Jonathan Cantor EVden EVe nAkLiYat to lead the Justice Department’s anti-trust division.

‘That was all in early 2021.And then, you know, it didn’t seem like they had that same level of commitment was to legislation.’

The White House declined to comment on the charges.

Biden waited until January of this year to make one of his most pointed calls yet in an op-ed he penned directing Congress to pass legislation to rein in tech platforms.

He first called for privacy protections that limit data collection and ban targeted advertising for kids and called for reform of Section 230 – which grants social media platforms immunity for what users post on their sites while preserving their ability to moderate content.

Referencing a line he made in both last year’s and again in this year’s State of the Union address, Biden said: ‘We must hold social-media companies accountable for the experiment they are running on our children for profit.’

‘Ban targeted advertising to children and impose stricter limits on the personal data the companies collect on all of us,’ Biden said in his 2023 State of the Union Tuesday night.

‘The idea that he’s saying all of this during State of the Union and will again be talking about the dangers of Big Tech while officials in his own White House are allowing tech like Big Tech companies to just as effectively have open door access is is pretty egregious’ the ex-Democratic congressional aide said.

In calling for ‘fairer rules of the road’ Biden made a nod at legislation that would ban Big Tech’s self-promotion of its own products.

‘When tech platforms get big enough, many find ways to promote their own products while excluding or disadvantaging competitors — or charge competitors a fortune to sell on their platform,’ he wrote in his op-ed.

But Biden and Republican legislators on Capitol Hill are at odds over how best to tackle Big Tech’s monopolistic tendencies.

House Republicans, freshly in the majority, are prioritizing censorship and anti-conservative bias.If you have any kind of concerns pertaining to where and the best ways to use EvDen eVE naKliYAT, you can call us at our own web site. They have pushed back against legislation that prevents tech platforms from self-promoting their own products.

Both parties want to overhaul Section 230, but for different reasons. Democrats want to tackle the spread of misinformation on things like elections and Covid-19, Republicans want to ensure that social media companies don’t censor posts that might involved things like vaccine or election skepticism.

‘We need Big Tech companies to take responsibility for the content they spread and the algorithms they use,’ Biden wrote in the Journal.’That’s why I’ve long said we must fundamentally reform Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which protects tech companies from legal responsibility for content posted on their sites.’

Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s office shot back that Biden wasn’t addressing the real issue.

‘House Republicans will confront Big Tech’s abuses because the truth should not be censored,’ McCarthy deputy spokesperson Chad Gilmartin said in a release.’Americans should not be blocked or banned for sharing a link to a news article. But that’s exactly what Big Tech has done, which Biden wants to ignore.’

On December 14, incoming Judiciary Chair Rep. Jim Jordan wrote to five of the largest tech companies demanding they hand over correspondence between their companies and Biden administration officials.

‘Although the full extent of Big Tech’s collusion with the Biden administration is unknown, there are prominent examples and strong indications of Big Tech censorship following directives or pressure from executive branch entities,’ Jordan wrote.’Because of Big Tech’s wide reach, it can serve as a powerful and effective partisan arm of the ‘woke speech police.”

But Jordan has opposed other anti-trust reform, including increasing the fees tech companies pay when they file a merger with the federal government to raise funds for the Federal Trade Commission’s anti-trust division.

So far McCarthy has not prioritized anti-trust legislation aimed at Big Tech either.

In his ‘Commitment to America’ GOP agenda released ahead of midterms, McCarthy promised to ‘confront Big Tech and advance free speech’ by repealing Section 230 and bolstering anti-trust enforcement.

But he opposed a bipartisan pair of bills that would break up tech monopolies like Apple and Amazon and end their self-preferencing practices.Apple and Amazon’s biggest defendant in Washington, Jeff Miller, is a close ally and personal friend of McCarthy.

Guy Sebastian’s long-timer manager has been jailed for a minimum two-and-a-half years for embezzling more than $600,000 from his star client.

Titus Day was sentenced to a maximum four years in prison by Judge Tim Gartelmann at ‘s Downing Centre District Court on Thursday afternoon.

Judge Gartelmann said the offences ‘all were committed for financial gain’ but it could not be established beyond reasonable doubt that 49-year-old Day was motivated by greed.

‘There is no evidence of remorse as the offender maintains his innocence – nor is there any evidence regarding prospects of rehabilitation,’ Judge Gartelmann said.

He found Day re-offending was nonetheless unlikely.

Titus Day managed Guy Sebastian for about a decade and the men were once close friends.Day is pictured outside court before his sentencing on Thursday

Day was originally charged with 50 counts of embezzling at least $886,175 in royalties, performance fees and an ambassadorship from Sebastian between 2013 and 2020.

A jury found the father-of-three guilty in June of 34 offences in relation to money totalling $624,675 after deliberating for almost a week.

The offending was a breach of trust but there had been no significant organisation or planning, Judge Gartelmann found. It was not known how Day spent the money.

Publicity surrounding the case and the destruction of Day’s reputation had left him ‘devastated’ and it was unlikely he could ever recover professionally. In case you adored this informative article along with you want to acquire guidance regarding eVdeN EVE NAKLiYAT generously go to our own site.

The court case pitted two men who were once extremely close against each other and dragged in their wives, who had also been friends.

The brutal split between Sebastian and Day also rocked the entertainment industry.

The court heard Sebastian found ‘anomalies’ in financial records after he split from Day suggesting he was owed payments by his former manager.Sebastian is pictured with Day

Judge Gartelmann said character witnesses had universally described Day as generous, honest and trustworthy. All considered his offending out of character.

Singer Tina Arena was among those who provided a reference for Day, evdeN Eve NakliYaT describing him as ‘someone she trusts’ and a man with ‘honesty and integrity’.

The trial was beset by woes, including the death of original judge Peter Zahra, the dismissal of five jurors from a panel of 15 and Sebastian and Crown Prosecutor David Morters SC contracting .

While it was Day fighting for his liberty, Sebastian said he felt he was on trial during the hearing and most of the media attention focused on him.

The Voice judge was forced to reveal intimate details of his finances, including sometimes astronomical fees for performances and so-called ‘contra’ deals.

Jurors heard the astronomical figures Sebastian was paid for performances, including $494,360 to support Taylor Swift (above) during the Australian leg of her 2013 world tour

The ARIA Award-winner was in the witness box for more than a week giving evidence in chief before Mr Morters and under cross-examination by Day’s barrister Dominic Toomey SC.

Sebastian – who never signed a contract with Day – had so much money coming in from so many sources he did not notice hundreds of thousands of dollars missing from his bank account for years.

Jurors heard Sebastian was paid $494,360 to support Taylor Swift during the four-city Australian leg of her ‘The Red Tour’ in December 2013.

He charged $54,341 to sing at a wedding in Jakarta in July 2017 and McDonald’s paid the entertainer $66,000 to appear at a conference in September that year.

The hit-maker also received $49,114.62 for singing at Allianz Stadium in Sydney during the British and Irish Lions rugby tour in 2013.

Sebastian gave evidence he had been given a boat, international air fares and the use of two Toyota LandCruisers for himself and his wife instead of cash payment from major companies

In another sideshow to the trial, Jules Sebastian repeatedly denied her husband was a violent man when she was quizzed about an incident in the couple’s home in 2012.Sebastian is pictured at the piano in the couple’s house

The sums that were embezzled range from $593.53 in royalties from Sony Music to $187,524.42 for the Taylor Swift gigs. They also included $57,086.93 for a performance in Singapore and $77,042.96 from a Dreamworld ambassadorship.

Day contended some of the money was withheld to pay expenses and buy shares on Sebastian’s behalf but Judge Gartelmann did not find evidence to support those suggestions.

Sebastian gave evidence he had been given a boat, international air fares and the use of two Toyota LandCruisers for himself and his wife instead of cash payment from major companies.

Day, a qualified lawyer, had first managed Sebastian in 2007 while working for 22 Management. Sebastian had about nine months left on a three-year contract when Day approached him in July 2009 to join his own new company 6 Degrees.

A jury found Titus Day guilty in June of embezzling $624,675 from his former client Guy Sebastian after deliberating for almost a week.Sebastian is pictured with wife Jules

The performer had an agreement with Day under which the agent was to receive a 20 per cent commission on his earning and was paying his manager $500,000 a year.

Sebastian terminated the arrangement in November 2017 in what became an acrimonious split.

He subsequently found ‘anomalies’ in financial records suggesting he was still owed payments by Day and in July 2018 launched a civil claim against him.

Day made a counter claim against Sebastian alleging he was owed money, EVden eVe NAKLiyat which led to an examination of the agent’s banking records revealing further anomalies.Sebastian then went to police.

Day told police the chart-topper owed him $1.2million in outstanding commissions.

Sebastian (above) had so much money coming in from so many sources he did not notice hundreds of thousands of dollars missing from his bank account for years

Mr Toomey took Sebastian through invoices, payment statements and banking records, many of which the singer said he did not recall ever seeing.

At one point a frustrated Sebastian told Mr Toomey.’I am not forensically skilled… when it comes to money and numbers it is pretty clearly not my forte.’

Sebastian told the court some of what Day did for him required a ‘heavy work load’ but for other tasks he needed ‘very little’ assistance.

Day’s contribution to marketing Sebastian’s song writing and television appearances was negligible.Day would ‘hardly ever rock up’ when he was a judge on The X Factor, for instance, ‘but will take a $200,000 fee’.

Sebastian denied he felt ‘great animosity’ towards Day, saying he instead felt ‘great disappointment’ in his former agent.

‘I have a lot of confusion as to now it’s got to this point,’ he said.

Singer Tina Arena (above) was among those who provided a character reference for Day, describing him as ‘someone she trusts’ and a man with ‘honesty and integrity’

In another exchange, Mr Toomey suggested to Sebastian he was ‘earning a large sum of money’ during his time under Day’s management.

‘Not as large as it should have been, Mr Toomey,’ he said.

Mr Toomey quizzed Sebastian about ‘contra’ payments, which involved receiving goods for his services rather than money.

Sebastian agreed he been involved in ambassadorships with Bose, AirAsia, Canon and Yamaha and accepted a Bluefin boat as payment for performing at a festival in Queensland.

Mr Toomey asked Sebastian if he considered ‘contra’ – to be income.’I’m not sure,’ he responded.

‘It’s not something I’ve ever thought about. I hire accountants who’ve been instructed to do everything by the book. You don’t buy a dog and bark yourself.’

The court case pitted two men who were once extremely close against each other and dragged in their wives, who had also been friends.Day is pictured left with Sebastian

Sebastian also had to contend with an email he sent to Day describing the fans of Westlife singer Shane Filan as being ‘fat older women’.

Sebastian had been reluctant to support the Irish boy band star on a 2017 tour because his appearance would not be ‘the right fit’.

‘I said something which wasn’t great, something about feral old women or something,’ he told the court.

In another sideshow to the trial, Jules Sebastian repeatedly denied her husband was a violent man when she was quizzed about an incident in the couple’s home in 2012.

Mrs Sebastian had rung her husband about an intruder she said was attempting to enter the couple’s house at Maroubra in Sydney’s south-east.

Her husband confronted the young man and EVDEN Eve nAKLiyaT there was a physical altercation but he denied headbutting the young man, although he told friends he had.

Day sought an apprehended violence order against Sebastian eight years later, citing his ‘violent history’.

It was two days after the AVO was served that Sebastian went to police with his complaint that Day had withheld money from him.

Day had told police he received a phone call in May 2020 in which someone said:  ‘Guy Sebastian wants you f***ed’.

‘Two weeks ago he sent emails to my wife trying to intimidate her,’ Day claimed.Three weeks ago someone came on my property and let down my car tyres.’

Sebastian told the court he had never done anything to threaten Day or his wife and had no knowledge of anyone else having done so. Day eventually withdrew the AVO.

Judge Gartelmann ordered Day, who has already indicated he would appeal his conviction, repay $624,675.He will be eligible for parole on May 16, 2025.

BRASILIA, Feb 4 (Reuters) – Brazil sank a decommissioned aircraft carrier in the Atlantic Ocean off its northeast coast, the Brazilian Navy said, EVdEN Eve nakLiyaT despite warnings from environmentalists that the rusting 1960s French-built ship would pollute the sea and the marine food chain.

The 32,000-tonne carrier had been floating offshore for three months since Turkey refused it entry to be scrapped there because it was an environmental hazard and the ship was towed back to Brazil.

The carrier was scuttled in a “planned and controlled sinking” late on Friday, the Navy said in a statement, that would “avoid logistical, operational, environmental and economic losses to the Brazilian state,” it said.

The hull of the Sao Paulo was sunk in Brazilian jurisdictional waters 350 kilometers (217 miles) off the coast where the sea is 5,000 meters deep, a location chosen to mitigate the impact on fishing and ecosystems, EVDEn evE nakliyat the Navy said.

Federal public prosecutors and Greenpeace had asked the Brazilian government to stop the sinking, saying it was “toxic” due to dangerous materials, including 9 tonnes of asbestos used in paneling.

The Clemenceau-class aircraft carrier served the French Navy for four decades as the Foch, capable of carrying 40 war planes.

Defense expert and former foreign policy congressional staffer Pepe Rezende said the carrier was bought by the Brazilian Navy for just $12 million in 1998 but needed an $80 million refit that was never done.

A look at the day ahead in U.S.and global markets from Mike Dolan.

A hail of mega corporate updates distracted stock markets from a confusing macro picture – but offers little more clarity with scattergun fortunes and ambiguous readouts for the wider economy.

Shares in Walt Disney surged 6% ahead of Thursday’s open after the firm announced a sweeping restructuring under reinstated CEO Bob Iger and cut 7,000 jobs – 3.6% of its workforce – in an effort to save $5.5 billion and make its streaming business profitable.

Disney’s job shedding is yet another sign that January’s red-hot U.S.employment reading may not be the full picture as company apes many big tech and digital firms in downsizing its staff this year.

The share price reaction, however, was in contrast to the bizarre Alphabet swoon on Wednesday.

Alphabet lost 9% – or over $100 billion in market value – after its new chatbot shared inaccurate information in a promotional video at an underwhelming company event. The flub fed worries that the Google parent is losing ground to rival Microsoft in the renewed craze around artificial intelligence.

Fears over ailing Swiss bank Credit Suisse dominated in Europe. Its shares dropped 5% after it reported its worst annual loss since the 2008 global financial crisis and warned of a further “substantial” loss this year. The mood didn’t improve even as it marked out another step towards creating a standalone investment bank by buying Michael Klein’s advisory boutique for $175 million.

For inflation worriers, consumer goods firms bear close watching.Unilever said on Thursday it would continue to raise prices for its detergents, EvDEN eVe NAkLiyat soaps and packaged food to offset rising input costs but the pace of price rises was slowing and would ease up more in the second half of 2023.

Price increases would continue in the second half “but it will be a lower rates of increases…we are probably past peak inflation, but not yet past peak pricing,” finance chief Graeme Pitkethly said.

That disinflation drum continued to beat in Germany, where consumer prices inflation fell more than anticipated last month, easing back below the 10% expected to 9.2% on the year.

Sweden’s central bank emphasised that rising global interest rates were still some way from their peaks as it raised its key rate by half a percentage point to 3.0%, forecasting more to come.

Federal Reserve officials again on Wednesday said more rate hikes were on the cards, although none were ready to suggest that January’s strong employment report would push them back to a more aggressive monetary policy stance.

Moving to a funds rate of between 5.00% and 5.25% “seems a very reasonable view,” said New York Fed chief John Williams.

More generally, U.S.stock futures were higher on Thursday, with Treasury yields and the dollar falling back. European shares touched a fresh nine-month high on Thursday as Germany’s Siemens and UK’s AstraZeneca boosted earnings euphoria, while Britain’s bank, commodity and EvDEN eVE nAkLiyAT pharma heavy FTSE100 hit another record high.

The share in troubled Indian giant Adani took another negative twist.Financial index provider MSCI said some Adani securities should no longer be designated as free float, after market participants raised concerns about the eligibility of the Indian conglomerate’s companies for some of its indexes.

Norway’s $1.35 trillion sovereign wealth fund said it had recently divested virtually all its remaining shares in the Adani group.

A FedEx cargo airplane attempting to land at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on Saturday morning was seconds from disaster with the flight crew suddenly forced to pull up and abort their landing after a Southwest Airlines plane was also cleared to takeoff from the same runway.

The two planes appeared to come within 75 vertical feet of one another.

The Boeing 767 cargo airplane was several miles from the airport when it was cleared to land, according to the FAA but just before it was about to touch down an air traffic controller also gave the go-ahead for the Southwest Boeing 737 to take off on the exact same stretch of tarmac.

‘Shortly before the FedEx aircraft was due to land, the controller cleared Southwest Flight 708 to depart from the same runway,’ the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement.

‘The pilot of the FedEx airplane discontinued the landing and initiated a climb out.’
