Anarse/Anarsa is a traditional sweet dish prepared in festive season, specifically ?Diwali?. In Maharshtrian home diwali is incomplete without anarse. Anarse is made of rice flour, jaggery, poppy seeds/ sesame seeds. Making anarse is bit tricky even though the recipe is very simple. It needs to soaking rice for 3 days with change of water daily to mitigate fermentation. Then dry the rice little, retaining a minimal amount of moisture and ground into a fine powder also know as pithi which is mixed in equal portion of jaggery.
